UK 12th in AP Poll-Washington earns SEC Freshman of the Week honors again

Kentucky is 12th and Tennessee is 24th in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll. Gonzaga is first this week followed by Auburn, Arizona, Purdue and Baylor rounding out the top five.

For the fourth straight week, Kentucky’s TyTy Washington has been named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week. He shares the honor this week with Auburn forward Jabari Smith. The Phoenix native averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 assists and three rebounds at Vanderbilt and against Tennessee. Against the Volunteers Saturday, Washington poured in a career-high 28 points and added five assists and three steals. Washington is the first Wildcat since Devin Booker to win SEC Freshman of the Week honors four times.
