The Christian County Health Department has seen a large increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past several weeks and are reminding people they do not have to wait for a call to start isolating.
According to a news release, as numbers continue to surge, CCHD is not always able to contact each positive individual to conduct a case review, contact trace, or provide quarantine letters. To protect the most vulnerable, they will be focused on contacting children under 18, adults aged 65 or older, and individuals in congregate settings.
If you have been tested by another provider, they should contact you with your results. People are urged to not wait to be contacted by CCHD to begin your quarantine or isolation if you start experiencing symptoms, are exposed to someone with COVID-19, or test positive for COVID-19.
The health department will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Day, which means COVID testing will not be available that day.
