The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville got a visit from Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Colonel Andrew Jordan during Tuesday’s meeting, who gave an update on Fort Campbell and the soldiers that call it home.

Colonel Jordan says he’s served as many military installations in his time, but Fort Campbell is easily at the top of the list for having the best relationship with the surrounding community, which causes a good amount of those leaving the army to settle here.

He says many of those former soldiers are looking to enter the workforce, and they bring leadership and experience to the table that others may not have.

Colonel Jordan bragged on the installation for recently being the recipient of a prestigious award—the 2021 Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence.

Colonel Jordan says they are working with community officials in the area to focus on helping soldiers transition to civilian life, and they’re always looking for new partnerships to help that become a reality.
