Two local lawmakers have reacted to Governor Andy Beshear’s State of the Commonwealth Address from Wednesday night.
State Senator Whitney Westerfield of Christian County was glad to hear the governor talk about potential aid for western Kentucky tornado victims. He is looking forward to the budget address next week and wants to see the governor follow through on his statements of working with the General Assembly.
Eighth District Representative Walker Thomas of Hopkinsville also appreciates the governor’s efforts after the tornadoes and hopes for a better relationship between the governor and General Assembly.
Lawmakers are expected to continue working in Frankfort through Saturday.
