A woman was seriously injured in an assault Monday morning at the Cottonwood Apartments on South Virginia Street in Hopkinsville and a suspect was arrested.
Hopkinsville police charged 36-year old Isaac Benjamin of Hopkinsville with second-degree assault, alleging he caused broken bones and other major injuries to a 43-year old Pembroke woman during the incident that happened about 11 a.m. at 2909 South Virginia.
The victim was flown by Life Flight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
