Murray State shot 56 percent from the field in routing Southeast Missouri 106-81 in the Ohio Valley Conference opener for both teams at the CFSB Center last night. Justice Hill had 22 of his career high 26 points in the first half for the Racers-who are now 11-2 overall and 1-0 in the OVC. Murray State’s game scheduled for tomorrow with Tennessee Tech was postponed due to COVID. The Racers return to the court next Thursday at Eastern Illinois.
Women: Murray State opened its 45th season of OVC play with a convincing 82-58 win over Southeast Missouri. Katelyn Young scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Racers. She surpassed her previous high of 28 set earlier this season at Evansville. The Racers are now 9-3 overall and 1-0 in the OVC and host Tennessee Tech at 5 pm Saturday.
