Green River Correctional Officer arrested for alleged sexual assault

Kentucky State Police have charged a Green River Correctional Complex Officer with third-degree sodomy following an investigation into a sexual assault complaint at the facility.

According to a news release, troopers began the investigation after receiving a report from an inmate that they had been sexually assaulted by a staff member. Detectives responded to the facility and began an investigation.

As a result, Correctional Officer 53-year-old Irvin Ware of Central City was arrested and charged with third-degree sodomy. He was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
