Christian County and University Heights began play yesterday in the Henderson Chevrolet Buick GMC Classic in Henderson.
The Colonels got by Daviess County 52-46. Jordan Miles led Christian County with 16 points followed by Breland Morrison and Derrell Bateman who each added 11. Christian County won its second game in a row in improving to 4-5 and is back in action this afternoon against Male with tipoff at 2 pm.
University Heights fell to Union County 58-53. Gavin Grubbs led the Blazers with 14 points and Cameron Brown added 10 as UHA fell to 2-6. They will face Daviess County at 4 pm today.
Hopkinsville defeated DeSales 91-79 at the City of Middletown Classic in Louisville. KC Cabiness had a double-double for the Tigers with 20 points and 10 rebounds with Bubba Leavell pitching in 19, Daisjuan Mercer added 15 and Kemarion Smith scored 13 as Hopkinsville improved to 5-4. The Tigers meet Central this afternoon.
