The NFL and NFL Players Association are modifying its COVID protocols. Standard isolation after a positive test for asymptomatic people is dropping from ten to five days regardless of their vaccination status. The change is in accordance with the CDC, which announced on Monday it had shortened the recommended isolation time from ten to five days, followed by five days of mask wearing for those asymptomatic. A record 106 players were placed on the COVID list on Monday.

The football world is mourning the passing of Hall of Famer John Madden. The NFL announced the legendary coach of the Oakland Raiders and broadcaster passed away at the age of 85 unexpectedly on Tuesday morning. Madden won Super Bowl 11 as head coach of the Raiders. He also was the namesake of the famous sports video game. Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement that “there will never be another John Madden.”
