Murray man killed in Highway 80 collision in Calloway Co.

A Murray Man has died, following a two-vehicle collision in Calloway County Monday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 80 and Bethel Road around 1 p.m. Monday for reports of a wreck with injuries. Preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle driven by 74-year-old James Sills of Murray was heading east on Bethel Road when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign.

He traveled into the path of a vehicle operated by 23-year-old Jordan Abren of Murray and the two collided. Abren was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Sills was pronounced deceased at the scene by Calloway County Coroner Ricky Garland.

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted on scene by Calloway County Fire-Rescue and Air Evac.
