Murray State loses, UT and Vanderbilt win Wednesday games

Murray State Racers saw their seven-game win streak come to a halt in a 71-58 loss against the 12th ranked Auburn Tigers. OVC Player of the Week Tevin Brown led the way for the Racers with 22 points and nine rebounds, while KJ Williams added 12 points and eight rebounds. The Racers- now 10-2- take a break for Christmas and begin Ohio Valley Conference play next Thursday in the CFSB Center against Southeast Missouri.

Despite being outscored 52-43 in the second half, 19th ranked Tennessee held off sixth ranked Arizona 77-73. John Fulkerson had 24 points to lead the Volunteers who are now 9-2 on the season. Tennessee opens Southeastern Conference play next Wednesday at 10th ranked Alabama.

Scotty Pippen, Jr. led Vanderbilt with 21 points as the Commodores downed Hawaii 68-54 in its opening game of the Diamond Head Classic last night. Vanderbilt is now 7-4 and meets BYU this evening at 9 pm.
