Dawson Springs Independent Schools will not resume the school year until January 18, the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, as decided at a special meeting of their school board Monday night.
Superintendent Lenny Whalen says they will begin scaling back after Christmas from an emergency response center to prep for school.
He says they have an abundance of many items, especially clothes and water, and storm victims needing those items can simply pick them up at the high school.
