Local girl talks about experience at world rodeo finals in Las Vegas

A local girl recently competed at the junior world rodeo finals in Las Vegas and appeared on WHOP Tuesday morning to discuss her experience.

Georgia Gray, a sixth-grader at University Heights Academy, says she was very excited when she qualified for the event.

Gray says her teammate—Ranger the horse—gave them some doubts about if he could compete, but he came through and was ready to go earlier this month.

She competed against the best in the country in barrel racing in her age group and finished 18th overall after qualifying for the short run.

Gray says it was a great experience and she doesn’t know where she and Ranger will go from here.
