College Football

There’s two bowl games on the schedule today. Kent State goes against Wyoming in the Famous Potato Bowl in Boise, ID this afternoon at 2:30 with 24th ranked San Diego State meeting UTSA in the Frisco Bowl at 6:30 this evening in Frisco, TX.

NFL

Two games were played on Monday with the Las Vegas Raiders edging Cleveland 16-14 in a game made up from Saturday due to Covid and the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Chicago Bears 17-9.

Two games postponed from Sunday will be played tonight. Washington faces Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Rams meet Seattle with both games kicking off at 6 pm.

NHL

The NHL is pausing its season through Christmas Day in response to the COVID-19 outbreaks throughout the league. Sportsnet reports that all games and practices will be shut down from Wednesday until December 26th when players will return to team facilities to get tested. The league had already been dealing with a flurry of postponed games.

MLB

The Oakland Athletics are hiring a familiar face to be their next skipper. ESPN reports Oakland has hired Mark Kotsay as its new manager. Kotsay was the team’s third-base coach last season and has worked with the franchise since 2016. The 46-year-old Kotsay will replace Bob Melvin, who was hired by the San Diego Padres in November.
