Trigg County students in the Intermediate and Primary Schools have new, state-of-the-art education environments to learn and grow in, and a ribbon cutting was held Monday morning at the facilities.
The Intermediate and Primary schools have undergone a dramatic transformation, making the space bigger, safer and more geared towards focused learning and health. Primary School Principal Lindsey Kinslow says the building that houses both schools is now safer for their students, with updated classrooms, bathrooms and technology throughout.
Intermediate School Principal Brian Futrell says this renovation has been years in the making, and he’s eager to see how students learn and play in this new environment.
Superintendent Bill Thorpe says there is more to come in the future, but for now, he says he can’t thank everyone who was involved enough, and the elementary students of Trigg County truly have something special.
The new gymnasium can seat the entirety of the student body, and each grade has their own ‘pod’, where they can gather safely with other students of their grade when not in their classrooms, without having to travel the school looking for bathrooms. New security features include digital key cards that can keep anyone not authorized out of not just the buildings, but then individual areas in the building.
