The Colonels won the boys game downing the Blazers 48-42. Derrell Bateman led Christian County with 14 points with Jordan Miles adding 13 as the Colonels are now 2-3/1-0 in district play. University Heights was led in scoring by Gavin Grubbs with 13 in falling to 2-4/1-1 in the district. Both teams will play in the City of Hopkinsville/Toyota of Hopkinsville Classic Monday at Hopkinsville’s Tiger Gym as the Colonels meet Louisville Central at 7 pm while the Blazers face Bowling Green at 3 pm.
In the girls game, Christian County routed UHA 66-39. The Lady Colonels had four players in double figure scoring led by Destinee Catlett-Watkins with 18 points, Anaysia Bagwell had 15, Mikayah Killebrew added 14 and Caitlin Steele had 11 as Christian County improved to 3-4/1-0 in the district. Alecia Davis had 19 points to lead UHA as the Lady Blazers fell to 1-5 and 1-1 in the district.
Both teams are in action Saturday as Christian County hosts Lyon County and UHA welcomes Logan County.
