Pennyrile Electric has continued to make progress in getting power restored to its members left in the dark following Saturday morning’s tornadoes.
The outage map shows approximately 1,900 members still without power, down by about 500 from 24 hours ago.
Crews are having to replace several poles to address an outage in many cases, which takes time.
As many as 14,000 members were without service in the immediate aftermath of the severe weather.
The largest outages are north of Elkton, near Pembroke, Oak Grove, Herndon and north of Russellville.
Pennryile is using its own linemen and contractors to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service.
