Kentucky tornado death toll remains at 74

Kentucky’s weekend tornado death toll remained at 74 Tuesday, with dozens of Kentuckians still unaccounted for.

Governor Andy Beshear noted during a noontime briefing in Frankfort that 12 of the fatalities are juveniles—one only two-months old and another five-months old.

Beshear notes just over 150 rooms at state parks are being used by people displaced by the tornadoes.

Volunteers are being utilized at each state park occupied by storm victims and Beshear says Pennyrile Forest State Park no longer needs volunteers, as 55 are already helping.

FEMA is on the ground in multiple Kentucky counties and anyone needing to inquire about federal assistance is advised to call 1-800-621-FEMA.

Kentucky Emergency Management Director Michael Dossett has agreed to stay on past his retirement date to help Kentucky get in a better place with the tornado before stepping away.
