Western Ky., Middle Tenn. under enhanced risk for severe weather Friday night

Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee have been upgraded by the Storm Prediction Center to an enhanced risk for severe weather Friday night.

The National Weather Service in Paducah says damaging winds and tornadoes are the primary threats, with large hail and locally heavy rain also possible.

Severe weather will be most likely from the evening into the overnight hours as a cold front approaches and sweeps across the area.

It will be especially important to have a way to receive weather warnings after you have gone to bed, with the possibilities of tornadoes in the overnight time period.
