CCHD reports 8 COVID deaths, 181 new cases

The Christian County Health Department reported an additional eight COVID-19 deaths in the community Thursday, with many of them reported late due to delayed reporting.

According to a news release, seven of the eight are results of delayed reporting and review by the Mortality Review Board. The victims are described as a 79-year-old Caucasian female, a 91-year-old Caucasian female, a 58-year-old Caucasian male, a 71-year-old Caucasian female, a 93-year-old Caucasian male, an 84-year-old Caucasian female, a 93-year-old African American female and a 56-year-old African American female. All eight victims were not vaccinated. It brings Christian County’s death toll to 144.

The health department also reported 181 new cases, and of those, 36 were vaccinated. There are 362 active cases and approximately 10,867 people have recovered from the virus.
