Festival of Trees kicks off at the War Memorial Building Friday

A flurry of decorating is taking place at the War Memorial Building, as the Pennyroyal Center Festival of Trees is set to get underway Friday.

Ashley Boze with the center appeared on WHOP Thursday morning and says the decorating of the trees would finish up Thursday, just in time for the doors to open for those with an appointment on Friday before fully opening to the public on Saturday.

The event is free to attend, but you can buy raffle tickets to enter in for a chance to win your favorite tree to take home.

All money that is raised from the event will benefit many of the Pennyroyal Center’s programs, but Boze says it’s free to attend this year because they wanted to provide families some holiday entertainment at no cost.

She says there will be activity packets and do-it-yourself projects for children and families to take home and enjoy.  For more information about the Festival of Trees, contact the Pennyroyal Center.
