College Football

Another LSU quarterback is entering the transfer portal. A week after Brian Kelly was named the Tigers’ next head coach, starting quarterback Max Johnson announced that he plans to enter the transfer portal. The sophomore threw 27 touchdowns and six interceptions this season. LSU also lost quarterback Myles Brennan to the transfer portal shortly after former coach Ed Orgeron agreed to step down.

NFL

The Tennessee Titans activated safety Kevin Byard off the reserve/COVID-19 list yesterday. Byard did not miss a game because the Titans had a bye last week. Tennessee hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings were no match for the Nashville Predators last night as the Preds got a 5-2 win in Detroit. Ryan Johansen and Roman Josi gave Nashville a 2-0 lead in the first period, then Nick Cousins, Eeli Tolvanen and Dante Fabbro scored third-period goals to close it out. David Rittich had a quiet night in net, as he made 14 saves and gave up two goals. Nashville stays on the road to play the New York Islanders tomorrow night.
