Poindexter hired as principal at HMS

Hopkinsville Middle School Interim Principal Nichole Poindexter can drop that interim tag, as she has been hired by the Christian County Public School System to lead that building.

Poindexter began her teaching career in Christian County Public Schools as a special education teacher at Belmont Elementary. She later served the Christian County Board of Education as a guidance counselor before being hired as the assistant principal at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary.

Poindexter later was appointed as an assistant principal at Hopkinsville High School and has been serving as the interim principal at Hopkinsville Middle since former principal Wendy Duvall left in August to become assistant superintendent in the Todd County School System.

Poindexter is quoted in a news release as saying, “I am thankful for this opportunity to continue to serve Hopkinsville Middle School. I look forward to preparing our students for the future by building a collective culture of collaboration where teachers, students, and parents are supported, respected and valued. I am committed to this community and I will bring that commitment, care and dedication to work with me every day for the benefit of students, families and staff of Hopkinsville Middle School.”
