HS Football

Kentucky Sports Radio unveiled its final Top 25 poll of the season today. Class 6-A champion St. X was the number one team, with Class 5-A champion South Warren ranked third. Mayfield was ranked 16th, Class A runner up Russellville was 17th and Class 3-A finalist Paducah Tilghman was 25th.

HS Golf

Hopkinsville High’s Will Binkley will sign his collegiate letter to continue his golf career this afternoon. The signing with Brescia College will take place at 3:45 at Hopkinsville High School.

College Football
The University of Miami has fired Manny Diaz after three seasons as head coach today. Diaz was 21-15 with the Hurricanes. Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal was named earlier today as Diaz’s replacement. Reports indicate Cristobal’s deal is for 10 years at $8 million per season.

College Basketball
Kentucky is ranked 10th and Tennessee is ranked 13th in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll which has Purdue in the number one spot this week. Baylor is second followed by Duke, UCLA and Gonzaga in the top five.

Austin Peay announced today its women’s basketball game at Murray State scheduled for February 17th has been moved up a day. The game will now be played on February 16th at 6 pm at the CFSB Center.
