Eighth District state Representative Walker Thomas of Hopkinsville has filed his papers to seek re-election in 2022.
The Republican local small business owner is seeking a fourth term and says he wants to continue pushing legislation in Frankfort that would encourage active duty Fort Campbell soldiers and veterans to choose Christian County over Clarksville when looking for a home.
The 2022 session will be busy with legislative redistricting and other matters, but Representative Thomas says passing a budget will be the top priority.
Thomas is opposed by Democrat Pam Dossett, who ran an unsuccessful campaign against Thomas in 2020.
District 8 includes portions of Christian and Trigg counties.
