Ky. adds 64 COVID deaths, 2,813 new cases

Kentucky has now had over 11,000 COVID deaths since the pandemic began, as Governor Andy Beshear reported 64 new deaths Friday.

The death toll now sits at 11,091—the positivity rate saw a small increase, now at 9.21 percent, and there were 2,813 newly reported cases of COVID-19 from Thursday to Friday. Todd County is once again ‘red’ on the state incidence rate map, while Christian and Trigg remain ‘orange’—there was only one ‘yellow’ county in the state, and that was Caldwell County.

There are currently 972 people in the hospital with COVID-19, 284 in the ICU and 156 on a ventilator.
