The Fairview Volunteer Fire Department has purchased a used fire engine from Pennsylvania to replace one of their older trucks.
Officials say the 1994 Pierce pumper/tanker with a 3,000 gallon water capacity and a 1,700 gallon per minute fire pump will be capable of supporting the local community and providing mutual aid departments as a pumper or a tanker.
It will be deemed as Fairview Engine 550 and is replacing retired Engine 551, which was purchased by the Allegre Volunteer Fire Department.
It was purchased from the Honey Brook, Pennsylvania Fire Company and Fairview Deputy Chief John Weaver brought it to its new home Thursday night.
