College Football

Michigan jumped back into the top-four in the penultimate College Football Playoff rankings. The Wolverines check in at number-two this week after their huge upset of rival and previous number-two Ohio State on Saturday. Georgia remains first in the rankings with Michigan, Alabama, and Cincinnati rounding out the new top-four. The final rankings will be released on Sunday.

NFL

ESPN is reporting that Coach Urban Meyer does not want to leave the Jacksonville Jaguars for a college football head coaching job. Meyer and the Jaguars have found little success this season as they sit last in the AFC South at 2-and-9.

MLB

MLB and the Players Association are reportedly not close to making any ground on a collective bargaining agreement. With the agreement set to expire at the end of day today, the two sides came together for another attempt at coming to an agreement, according to ESPN. Instead, major hurdles such as earlier free agency for players continue to remain in the way. If no deal is struck, the likely result is a lockout from the owners.

All-Star third baseman Joey Wendle is on his way to Miami. The Marlins acquired Wendle in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays. In return, Tampa is receiving 23-year-old prospect Kameron Misner. The 31-year-old Wendle made his first All-Star game in 2021, and he finished the season with a .265 average, 31 doubles, 11 home runs, and 54 RBI.
