Two unrelated burglaries investigated Friday, one suspect arrested

Hopkinsville police investigated a pair of burglaries Friday, with one leading to an arrest.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 600 block of West First Street about 11 a.m. and investigation determined that 41-year old John Trump of Hopkinsville had kicked in the front door and threatened that he’d harm a woman inside if he didn’t leave with her.

Trump allegedly left while the victim was on the phone with 911 with her wallet and was located a short time later at the intersection of Means Avenue and Jessup Street. He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.

Meanwhile, force was used to get inside Sally’s Beauty Supply on Fort Campbell Boulevard sometime between Thursday morning and Friday morning and took two pairs of hair clippers valued at $260, with no suspects named on that report.
