Locals urged to ‘Shop Small’ this Saturday in Hopkinsville

Small Business Saturday is once again being celebrated in Hopkinsville and Christian County, as Shop Small Saturday events and deals will take place throughout the day.

The event always takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving and following Black Friday, which focuses on large businesses and stores.  Holly Boggess with the Downtown Renaissance District says Shop Small Saturday looks to encourage people to shop local and support those small business owners that call the community their home.

As part of Shop Small Saturday locally owned businesses are encouraged to offer special sales, conduct drawings for prizes and provide swag to the loyal customers who support them year-round. Boggess says they’ll be at J. Schrecker starting at 10 a.m. to hand out totes bags full of offers and items.

The first Christmas Market on the Square will also take place Saturday, highlighting the small businesses that operate through the local Farmers’ Market, and the final Downtown Stroll, Sip and Shop will take place in conjunction with all the events taking place.

This year, the Downtown Renaissance District is also partnering with J. Schrecker Jewelry to feature the final 2021 Downtown Stroll, Sip & Shop event as part of Small Business Saturday.
