Judge Atkins files for re-election

There will be a contested election for Christian Circuit Judge in 2022.

Incumbent 3rd Circuit, Division 2 Judge John Atkins filed his papers with the Kentucky Secretary of State’s Office to seek re-election in the non-partisan race and is opposed by Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen.

Judge Atkins is the longest-tenured and chief judge in Christian County and is seeking a fourth eight-year term. He served as Commonwealth’s Attorney prior to being elected judge.

He is a graduate of Murray State University and the University of Louisville Law School.
