An arrest warrant for robbery, stalking and violation of an emergency protective order was served Tuesday against a Hopkinsville man.
It says 51-year old Craig Akers of Hopkinsville was served with an EPO and ordered to stay away from the victim on October 31, but he allegedly contacted her again that same day and was arrested.
He was released on his own recognizance the following day and allegedly violated the EPO again by going to the victim’s home and confronting her in her driveway. That’s where the victim says Akers grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against her car, threatening to kill her and demanding her keys.
Akers then drove away with the vehicle and was later arrested in Florida.
He has since been extradited and is lodged in the Christian County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree stalking, violation of an EPO and violation of conditions of release.
