Turkey Trot set to go in Hopkinsville on Thanksgiving, rain or shine

Thanksgiving morning will have downtown Hopkinsville once again home to joggers, walkers and runners as the 20th annual Turkey Trot kicks off that morning.

There’s still time to sign-up to participate in the event, with Coordinator Toby Hudson saying you can fill out the registration form online at hoptownrec.org, and be ready to run on Thanksgiving morning at 8 a.m.

Superintendent Tab Brockman says the race will go on rain or shine, as it’s a tradition for many families in the community.

Hudson says Christmas decorations are going up downtown, and it’ll start really feeling like the holidays downtown soon.

The Hopkinsville Turkey Trot 5k is a family-oriented event open to walkers, runners, joggers, skaters and bikers of all ages and paces. Dogs on leashes are welcome to participate with their owners in the 3.1-mile race.
