A cold first half of the holiday week is expected to transition to a rainy Thanksgiving Day.
That’s according to Derrick Snyder with the National Weather Service in Paducah, who says while up to a half-inch of rain could fall during mainly the first half of Thursday, there doesn’t appear to be any risk for severe weather hazards.
The remainder of the Thanksgiving weekend should be dry and Snyder says next week looks to have above normal temperatures and average precipitation.
Snyder congratulated Christine Wilegos for recently being officially hired as warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Paducah, replacing Christian County native Rick Shanklin who recently retired.
