Fiery crash causes traffic issues overnight on I-24 in Montgomery County

A fiery hit and run crash in Montgomery County overnight caused some traffic issues on I-24.

Clarksville police say a SUV sideswiped a tractor-trailer near the 8 mile-marker on the eastbound side, causing the SUV to travel off the roadway and into trees, where it caught fire.

The driver of the SUV left the scene and Clarksville Fire and Rescue were able to determine no one was inside the vehicle.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
