A vehicle pursuit near Trenton Thursday night ended with a wreck and arrest.
Trenton Police Chief Henry Hamlet stopped 20-year old Hayden Holland of Pembroke for driving impaired just before 9 p.m. at Dixie Beeline Highway and Tress Shop Road and the arrest citation says Holland fled from the traffic stop after Chief Hamlet took his license and registration.
Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Knight assisted in the ensuing pursuit northbound on Tress Shop Road and then onto Henderson Road, where Holland’s truck went off the roadway and damaged a fence.
He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and smelled of alcohol, according to police.
Holland was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment of a police officer, DUI, felony criminal mischief and improper display of registration plate.
