Longtime Elkton police officer Rodney Moberly has filed his papers to run for Todd County jailer in 2022.
Sgt. Moberly has been with Elkton police since 1991 and says he’s been encouraged by other members of the local law enforcement community to run for jailer as he intends to soon retire from the city.
If elected, Sgt. Moberly says he’d address what he believes are some issues with how the jail currently operates.
Moberly is a 1981 graduate of Todd County Central High School and he worked with emergency management before becoming a police officer in 1987.
He will face incumbent Jailer Jeff Penick in a Republican primary.
