Executive Director Carter Hendricks says the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is pushing forward with marketing and rebranding efforts in the region to attract new industry to the area.
Appearing on WHOP Friday morning, Hendricks says they’re really interested in making sure potential businesses know about the existence and the benefits of Commerce Park 2, which he says is a great asset to the region as a whole. He says they’ll focus on marketing the railroad access and the size that’s available for use.
Hendricks says they’ll also be looking to upgrade electric vehicle infrastructure and continue advocating for roadway improvements in the area of Commerce Park 2.
Construction of the spec building is moving on well, with Hendricks saying they’ve only experienced some issues with the supply chain and he expects it to be finished on schedule.
Hendricks says there was good turnout to a recent job fair, and they’re looking into holding another one some time in the spring to possibly reach students who are leaving school and looking to enter into the workforce.
