One arrested in connection with shots fired incident on North McPherson

Hopkinsville police have arrested a man in relation to a shots fired called that occurred Monday night on North McPherson Avenue.

According to a post from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of North McPherson for reports of a disturbance and while in route, learned that shots had been fired. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female on scene who told officers that she and 49-year-old Danny Wyatt had gotten into a verbal altercation that escalated.

Wyatt allegedly fired a handgun into the air and pointed it at another person nearby. When the victim tried to leave, he allegedly reached into the vehicle, turned it off and broke the key in the ignition.

Wyatt was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

No one was injured in the incident.
