Two newcomers are taking home the hardware for Major League Baseball’s Rookie of the Year awards. Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India took the National League honors, while Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena represents the American League.

The St. Louis Cardinals coaching staff for next season is finalized. The team officially announced yesterday the return of Skip Schumaker to the organization as its big league bench coach behind new manager Oliver Marmol. Schumaker played eight seasons with the Cards, including two World Series Championship seasons in 2006 and 2011. He last served as associate manager of the San Diego Padres. Turner Ward is also joining the Redbirds as their assistant hitting coach.

The New York Yankees are hiring former New York Mets manager Luis Rojas to be their new third base coach. Phil Nevin served in the role last year. Rojas served as Mets manager during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season and all of this last season.
