Christian Fiscal Court meets new imagination library coordinator, accepts bid for roofing project

Christian Fiscal Court was introduced to the new Imagination Library coordinator Tuesday morning and accepted a bid for re-roofing the historic Christian County Courthouse.

Magistrates accepted a $348,000 bid from Swift Roofing to install a standing seem metal roof on the courthouse on South Main Street and Treasurer Walter Cummings says the cost could go up some if the contractor finds rotten decking that needs repair similar to what was found on the Alhambra.

Ka’Dessa Snorton was introduced by Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Director DeeAnna Sova as the new coordinator of the imagination library that distributes an age-appropriate book to children from birth to five each month through the mail at no cost to the families.

Sova says she’s confident Snorton will be effective in building community support for the program.

Snorton, a Murray State graduate and Hopkinsville native, says she’s excited to get started and hopes to see more families sign up for the Christian County Imagination Library.

Christian County families can sign up for the imagination library program on the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library website or go to the library in person.
