Veterans Day is coming up Thursday and Western Kentucky Congressman James Comer says work continues to improve the federal Department of Veterans Affairs.
Comer says he and others are pushing the VA to modernize its record-keeping, as many veterans have difficulty accessing records that were originally made using pencil and paper, as some of those documents haven’t been integrated into a computer system yet.
He says the VA healthcare system has improved some over the last several years, but there’s work to be done—especially in the bureaucracy.
Comer would like to see veterans have access to go to whatever hospital or medical facility they would choose.
