Longtime Assistant County Attorney Lincoln Williams Foster announced Friday that he will be seeking the position of Christian County Attorney in the next general election.
The announcement comes after the current County Attorney, John Soyars, announced that he will not seek reelection to that office and endorsed Foster to run. According to a news release, Foster graduated from the University of Kentucky, with honors, in December of 2008 and from law school in May 2012. He also graduated with honors from Hopkinsville Community College in May of 2004.
Foster stated in the release, “It has been my privilege to serve as Assistant County Attorney for the past 10 years under the guidance of my father, Mike Foster, as well as his successor, John Soyars. I could not ask for two greater mentors in terms of properly serving the public and the agencies that depend on the advice of the Christian County Attorney.”
He continues, “I have a working knowledge of all aspects of the County Attorney Office including criminal and traffic prosecution, Fiscal Court representation, child support collections and advice to all county offices. I know the challenge of doing this job properly and the best ways to meet that challenge. Simply stated, I would hit the ground running if I am fortunate enough to be elected as your next County Attorney.”
Foster and his wife Katherine, also a local attorney, have been practicing law for nine years. They are the parents of two children, Caroline, age four and Rhett, age one year.
