Kentucky positivity rate down slightly, Christian County now yellow on COVID map

Kentucky’s COVID positivity rate declined slightly Thursday and Governor Andy Beshear and the first lady received their COVID-19 booster shots.

The governor and first lady rolled up their sleeves for the booster during Thursday’s Team Kentucky update.

Governor Beshear says Kentucky’s decline in new COVID cases seems to be slowing.

Kentucky’s Health Commissioner, Dr. Steven Stack, says while not everyone is eligible for a booster, many are.

Over 2.5 million Kentuckians have received at least their first dose of the COVID vaccine.

There were 1,398 new cases in the commonwealth Thursday and the positivity rate fell to 5.03 percent.

Christian County joined Todd as yellow on the incidence rate map, while Trigg remains red.
