A campaign to benefit the residents of the Western State Hospital for Christmas is gearing up in the community and officials are asking for donations.
According to a news release, individuals, groups, and businesses can participate in a variety of ways including the donation of gifts, making a contribution or sponsoring a unit party. Suggest gifts include clothing of all sizes for men and women age 18 and up, personal hygiene items, notebooks and crossword and word search books and more.
Monetary contributions would allow for the purchasing of additional gifts and funding special events and occasions in the future. A unit party costs around $150 and purchases food and items for a unit of roughly 15 individuals.
