Arrest made after Monday morning burglary at local gas station

Hopkinsville police arrested a man early Monday morning who allegedly forced his way into a North Main Street convenience store.

Officers responded to the report of a burglary in progress at the Marathon gas station at 800 North Main about 6:15 a.m. and the window was broken and the intruder was still inside when police arrived.

Sgt. Tony Sierra says 32-year old Joshua Bransford of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee fled on foot with stolen property in hand when police arrived.

He was soon caught, but continued to struggle with police.

Officers arrested Bransford and charged him with third-degree burglary, fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest.
