Lyon County traffic stop leads to two arrests

A traffic stop in Lyon County over the weekend led to the arrests of two people on drug-related charges.

A Lyon County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle on Fairview Avenue driven by 32-year old Jeffrey Williams of Eddyville.

A computer check showed Williams was wanted on warrants for trafficking in meth, tampering with evidence, failing to appear in court and for being a persistent felony offender.

Deputies searched the vehicle and say they found methamphetamine, marijuana, cash, syringes and checks belonging to other people, including one that had been reported stolen.

Williams was additionally charged with a new count of trafficking in meth, criminal possession of a forged instrument, driving on a suspended license and other counts.

A passenger, 30-year old Savannah Wittmer of Grand Rivers, was arrested on charges of meth possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and she was served with a warrant for failing to appear in court.
