Unemployment was up from August to September in five of nine Pennyrile counties and down from a year ago in all nine counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 4.9 percent, up from 4.6 percent in August and down from 6.1 percent a year ago. It equated to 1,199 people who were looking for work and were unable to find it.
Todd County has Kentucky’s sixth-lowest unemployment rate at 3.1 percent, the same as August and down from 3.8 percent in September of 2020.
The jobless rate in Trigg County was 4.2 percent, up by a tenth of a point from August and down from 5.5 percent one year ago.
Muhlenberg County had the region’s highest unemployment rate at 5.6 percent.
