A Hopkinsville man is facing felony charges after an altercation with his ex-girlfriend where he is alleged to have strangled her.
According to the arrest report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, the altercation occurred in the victim’s residence where 20-year-old Jacob Williams of Hopkinsville allegedly struck the victim’s legs with a broomstick, leaving welts. He also allegedly threw her to the ground and wrapped his hands around her throat, squeezing to the point that she was unable to breathe.
Williams left the residence after the altercation, but apparently came back at some point in the evening while the victim was gone, entering the home without permission and rearranging items. It is unclear if anything was taken.
Williams was located later at a Kentucky Street residence and taken into custody. He is charged with strangulation, second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault and possession of marijuana.
