The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is bringing back their Operation: Safe Halloween event on Friday afternoon, where they will give out candy to any trick-or-treaters that come through.
The gates will be opened at 5 p.m. after the City of Hopkinsville’s Downtown Trick-or-Treating event, and Sheriff Tyler DeArmond says it may turn into a drive-thru type event in the case of rain.
He says while they had to cancel the event last year due to the pandemic, they had tremendous turnout in 2019 and they’re looking forward to visiting with community members and handing out a ton of candy.
Rain or shine, trick or treaters will enter through the Young Street entrance at the gate in the back of our parking lot. If it’s not raining, parking will be in the front, and trick or treaters will walk down Young Street to the back gate.
